The simbology is strong in this drawing! I love the approach you came on it. The fact that the younger one is covering older Tai's eyes while smiling shows serenity but the same time lack of conscience. Now, as an older character he had grown to realise the consequence his acts make.
I honestly disagree with some if not most of the digimon tri paths, but I loved how they approach Tai's doubt. First, because being brave doesn't mean being irresponsible. If you go straight without thinking of the consequences you are not brave, you are impulsive. Having fear and overcoming it is what makes you brave.

Sorry for the long comment, I just felt inspired by this artwork and needed to share it x'D!

Thank you for these words, for real! And please don't apologize; this made my day. xD

Unlike most fanarts, which usually take me more time than they should, this one was a rare case of legit sudden urge to draw. I know it's a very simple drawing and there's nothing particular fantastic about it, and for this reason I didn't think it could convey more than my love for the portrayal Taichi got in tri so far.
It's always great when we manage to get more than "this looks cute"! When I get too many of those, it means I must try harder next time! lol

Thank you~!

So beautiful. It looks like Tai's trying to be brave and have courage but is having trouble with it. It's an amazing piece and the way it's portrayed is amazing. Good job RW09. Nod Love +fav

I'm not really of fan of Tri Taichi he seems to have lost his courage somehow. I understand that he is concerned with hurting others no which is good because he just doesn't go head first into things without thinking of consequences but I'm not too keen on his current personality. I'll have to wait until the next part comes out to see if he changes.

Great picture by the way I love how young Taichi is covering teen Taichi's eyes.

Me too.
I thought he got over it and become friends with Matt (Yamato) again, but in tri it seems that everything in their past got lost and they have to make the same emotional experiences again.

Same with me I understand that Yamato and Taichi have never really been all that close but they just seem to be at each others throats again. More so Yamato is that way towards Taichi and Taichi is just trying to prevent the same thing happening again.

Thank you for the kind message, I'm just glad you like it. :)

Haha Perhaps this is due to the fact this is my favourite character we're talking about.... I'm more on the side of those who can't help but love the approach Tri is having with him in particular.

Forgive me for disagreeing, I don't think he has lost his courage as much as I think he's simply trying to figure out what to do with this new acquired mentality of him, the mindest of a young adult who is now starting to see more than just "black and white" in the world he lives. Now he's starting to become better aware of the shades of grey that need to be taken into account when making decisions, as those may play into some nasty outcomes later, he's also very upset such things didn't seem to bother him before, back in the day he was much younger. Everything seemed so much simplier in the past when he was still a naive child...

Well, this is what I make of it, anyway.

I think he regrets many of his past actions, now he realises many of those were impulsive and very risky decisions. "Now I see more and understand less", "I've destroyed so much without even knowing", "I may end up killing someone like this" His sentences in the first OVA only make sense when we take all of the above into consideration and realise the Tri series is a deconstructed version of Adventure aimed at a slightly more matured audience.

The shades of grey I'm speaking of consist of things as simple as having the character seeing more than just his point of view, of course. Even though he's a chosen child himself, apparently, he can't fully blame the citizens of Odaiba, perhaps because everytime these so called "monsters" show up there's many buildings destroyed and everybody's lives are at risk.

As it is, in the past seasons, everytime this character noticed his actions could lead to the worst outcomes, he found himself with very serious hesitation problems, motivated by his very strong sense of justice. In other words, there were many times the chosen child of courage seemed like a "coward" of sorts, but it's not because he's an actual coward. It's simply because he can't stand the thought of doing "the wrong thing" by accident. This is the part about him that hasn't changed and that makes Taichi Taichi, in my humble opinion. Sure, this also means he's still a naive child, despite his growth. He hasn't fully matured just yet. xD

I reckon Tri is following the most logical approach by taking all these things into account. :)
Oh but I don't think people are necessarily wrong when they say Taichi is different. I agree. And that's a good thing in the sense he's still loyal to the core of the character he has always been in the original series.  I believe the next movies will eventually show everybody what's really  going on. Taichi's ordeal hasn't reached to a conclusion, afterall. =D

Oh boy.... I'm sorry for the long rambling hahahaha *hides in shame* I love these series! Digimon Adventure has never been very obvious of a series.

I get where you're coming from with your explanation but I would prefer to have Taichi somewhat like his old self. I do like that he is taking others into consideration cause that part of his personality was kind of a let down to me. That he would rush in and not thing of others but I guess where I am going with this is that I agree with Yamato that Taichi is just running away from his problems instead of facing them head on like he normally does.

I do like the rest of the series and how they each seem to be struggling with their trying to be adults but also having the responsibility of being the Digidestants. It's really awesome how the writers are showing how these characters are growing from children to adults.
